Gauteng Winter Trail Series - race 1

Race 1 of the 4th Gauteng Winter Trail Series kicks of this coming Sunday 5th June at the ever popular Groenkloof Nature Reserve near Pretoria.   The first race in the LONG course Championship is an awesome 11km route that includes the highest point inside the nature reserve.  The terrain in the long course is fairly technical, with the current course record standing at 44:12 set by Lucky Mia in 2010.  The short course is a fun 5km loop using the tracks and trails that criss-cross the Northern part of the nature reserve.

Pre-registration

For those of you who want to take the stress out of queuing on Sunday morning, There will be a non-compulsory pre-registration at the adidas Concept Store in Rosebank on Saturday 4th June.  If you have pre-entered you will be able to collect your race number and sign the event indemnity.  You will be able to enter at this pre-registration as well.

On the day registration

You will be able to collect your race number and complete the indemnity on the day of your first race, and we will be taking limited on the day entries.

For the kids

There are three kids categories in the short course (click here to find out more).  For those not running there will be a Spur jumping/bouncy castle to keep them entertained...

Coffee & food?

There will be a Spur food van & Cafe Pronto Coffee available at the start/finish.

All the amazing prizes are sponsored by leading sports brand adidas.  There are category prizes and spot prizes for each race, as well as the overall winners of the Championship and Challenge.
