The finale of the 2013 Cape Summer Trail Series took place this past Sunday, 24 February 2013 at Oak Valley, in the heart of Elgin. Reilly sets the bar high at the Inaugural Trail Series Silvermine Mountain XL

Three of the best Cape Summer Trail Series routes from previous years were combined to create the inaugural 34km Trail Series Silvermine Mountain XL event that took place on Saturday, 9 February 2013 in Silvermine Nature Reserve. Silvermine Mountain XL Kit List

The latest weather forecast is predicting thunderstorms on Saturday, potentially starting as early as 7am.  While this suggests that for the most part the air will be relatively humid and warm, in the event of heavy thundershowers the temperature can drop quite substantially and is usually matched by isolated driving cold winds.

Cape SE bares it’s teeth at Tygerberg

Typical summer SE winds tore over and around the Tygerberg Nature Reserve ridgeline yesterday evening as some 600 runners took to what is arguably one of the toughest Trail Series routes on the CSTS circuit. The usual hilltop start make for spectacular views of the sunset however, with runners enjoying the magnificent vistas over Table Bay and Cape Town as they tackled this very undulating course.…

BREAKING NEWS: "TEAM RELAY" addition to the Silvermine Mountain Challenge XL

We've updated the format of the Silvermine Mountain Challenge XL to include an exciting Team Relay aspect!

In addition to the standard 34km route (for the crazy, single soul), teams of two are now allowed to share the 34km route by splitting it into three legs:

Teams of 2, with runner 1 completing 14+6km & runner 2 completing 14km

Battle in the urban jungle in the Cape Summer Trail Series Race 2
