Hi, I am also interested in a trail running club. Currently doing all training on the road in the north (Northriding) where there are lots of badly maintained roadsides so it makes for interesting running. Would love to join a group.

Hi Adri, Im not sure if some of the local running clubs has a trail running component to them, are you aware of any good running clubs on the West Rand. I am stayin in Wilropark, near Clearwater mall.

Hi Jeanne, I don't know any running clubs around here that have a trail running component. I suppose you could consider Randburg Harriers or RAC if you want to join a running club and maybe in time clubs will start groups for trail running as more people join this sport. I think it may be quite an exercise in coordination if you want to get groups together to run trails because you will have to go somewhere out of the city. Where do trail runners go to train? Most of the people I know simply do their training on the road. I think it will be great though if trail runners can get organised for regular informal runs in nature reserves or hiking areas.

Hi guys, I don´t know of any groups of trail runners on the west rand but there is an awesome place to meet and run on trails out there. It´s called Kings Kloof and is on the N14 between the R28 and R563, It´s between Muldersdrift and Sterkfontein.
Varied terrain, big hills , great veiws, safe parking . Check it out on www.kingskloofmtb.co.za.
I´ve run a few times there and its really nice

Hello all you lovely trail runners.
I've created an event on the Wildrunner website for an informal group trail run starting and finishing at Ilhanti on Sunday 18 Dec. It should be approved by Owen for public viewing later today, else mail me at ian@minus273.co.za. Hopefully this will be the start of a monthly group run - there's plenty of routes out here in 'my valley' :-)
There's a few people interested in coming out for the whole weekend, so I'm looking at putting together routes for Friday and Saturday too.

Hi guys, I'm also in the West Rand, desperate for some dirt and able to run early morning, or late eve in the week and anytime weekends. I love Kings Kloof too ! If there's training groups out this side I'm definately interested !
